Description
Once a Victorian gentleman's residence, The Belmont offers superior accommodation in elegant surroundings. We are known for our warm welcome, friendly efficient service and relaxing atmosphere and are featured - by invitation - in The AA BEST Bed & Breakfast 2008.
The Belmont Hotel stands in mature grounds well back from the road behind Keats Green, enjoying peace and privacy, yet is ideally located just a short stroll to the picturesque thatched Old Village, Shanklin Chine, the beach and town centre.
There are thirteen generously appointed rooms at The Belmont, with a choice of double, twin, family and ground floor rooms. All are en-suite, with television, direct dial telephone, clock radio, hairdryer, toiletries and hospitality tray, and most face the sea or the garden.
Superior rooms are sea-facing with king-sized or twin beds, or garden-facing with a four-poster bed. Our Premier Room is the largest room with a spacious bathroom, additional furniture, large television, digital radio and helpful extras such as bathrobes.
The family suite comprises one room with a double bed and superb sea views, a connecting room currently with bunk beds and an en-suite bathroom.
You start your day with a hearty English, vegetarian or Continental breakfast served in the elegant dining room looking onto the secluded sun-trap rear garden. Here you can relax all day and take a dip in our outdoor pool (heated late May to early September).
The colonial-style veranda, spanning the front of the hotel, is another delightful spot to settle down with a book or newspaper in the morning sun. Indoors, you can admire the view of the cliff-top church from our comfortable lounge, and find the perfect place for an evening drink in our cosy bar.
Travel arrangements are easy with our ferry inclusive breaks and we have a good sized car park within the front grounds. A Broadband Internet connection is available by Reception for you to use your own laptop and we can order daily newspapers for you.
