Isle of Wight Grand National and Ashey Scurry

Grand National & Ashey Scurry

The Isle of Wight Grand National and Ashey Scurry is a series of amateur horse races over cross country, post and rail and natural hedges. The event is sponsored by Biles & Co. and takes place at West Ashey Farm, near Ryde. The course can be reached by car or by steam train from Havenstreet Station. Memorial Ploughing Match

Come to the Island's Memorial Ploughing Match at New Wolverton Farm in Shorwell and watch heavy horses ploughing alongside vintage and modern tractors. Isle of Wight Challenge

Enjoy the spectacular Island scenery as you walk, jog or run either the 56km ‘Half-Island’ course or the full 106km coastal loop. Isle of Wight Walking Festival

Walking Festival

This year's Isle of Wight Walking Festival returns as IsleWalk2017. This popular Isle of Wight event has been held every year since 1999 and is the largest walking festival in the UK. It is an extremely popular event and attracts huge numbers from all over the world. The festival offers numerous guided walks that cater for all ages and abilities. Wolverton Folk & Blues Fair (11:30am - 8pm)

The Wolverton Folk & Blues Fair takes place in the beautiful grounds of Wolverton Manor in Shorwell and raises funds for leukeamia research and Brighstone Primary School. Isle of Wight Festival

Major UK music festival held over four days at Seaclose Park in Newport. Round The Island Race

Round the Island Race

The Round The Island Race is the largest and most famous yachting race in the UK. The race starts and finishes at Cowes and covers a 50 mile course around the Isle of Wight. Cowes Week

Cowes Week is probably the most well known of all Isle of Wight events, with around 800 - 1000 boats and 8000 competitors taking part in this world famous sailing regatta. Isle of Wight Garlic Festival

Garlic Festival

The Garlic Festival is held at Newchurch Showground, next to the Fighting Cocks pub at Arreton on the Newport to Sandown road. As well as the world famous Isle of Wight garlic, the very best of Island produce is also showcased, with hundreds of stalls selling food and a diverse range of arts and crafts, plus live music including Mike Pender's Searchers, The Flirtations, The New Grass Cutters and the Island's very own Derek Sandy. The 200-mile long Cowes Classic offshore powerboat race from Cowes-Torquay-Cowes is widely recognised as one of powerboating's toughest challenges. Little Britain Challenge Cup

The Little Britain Challenge Cup is the largest corporate yachting regatta in Europe, as well as the biggest UK gathering of senior figureheads from the construction and property industry.
