Description
The Red Lion in Freshwater has been voted Isle of Wight ‘Best Pub’ by the Wight Good Food Guide 2010. The criteria for this award are quality of food, consistency, atmosphere, welcome and service. The Red Lion is renowned for the quality of its home cooking, using locally sourced meat, fish and vegetables, served in a traditional village pub with open fires and flagstone floors. There is a good range of real ales at The Red Lion, as well as an extensive wine list and a large garden.
You will find The Red Lion alongside All Saints Church, at the top of Hooke Hill, and the pub is easily reached on the River Yar walk from Yarmouth, just over the Causeway Bridge. No children under 10 are allowed in the pub, but are welcome in the garden.
Opening hours are from 11.30 to 15.00 & 17.30 to 23.00.
Food is served between 12.00 and 14.00 & 18.30 and 21.00.
