Isle of Wight Austins Club
The Isle of Wight Austins Club was formed in February 1996 and we are perhaps unique in that we meet every Sunday morning throughout the year in the car park at Godshill at about 10.30 a.m. This is the time that many coaches bring visitors to Godshill and many of their passengers come over to look at our cars and reminisce.
A little later, we move off for an interesting run to visit a place of interest or explore some of the beautiful lanes and scenery of the Island. We always finish up having morning refreshments somewhere. In the summer months, if the weather is good, some of the Isle of Wight Austins Club group will go off and have a picnic lunch at some Island beauty spot.
Throughout the year we also attend popular Isle of Wight events (e.g. the Old Gaffers Festival at Yarmouth) and car rallies at Arreton and Havenstreet.
In November 2005, the Isle of Wight Austins Club enjoyed the honour of being featured on the 'Antiques Roadshow' BBC TV programme that was recorded on the Island earlier in that year.
