Description
Manser B&B is a 1930s detached house situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the main road out of Ventnor, towards St Lawrence and Niton. It is virtually next to Ventnor Cricket Club & Academy and the famous 22-acre Ventnor Botanic Garden. This superb “home-from-home” Isle of Wight holiday accommodation is named after flying officer Leslie Thomas Manser who was awarded the Victoria Cross at the tender age of 20. The medal was awarded for his gallant actions in piloting his crippled plane away from nearby houses and ordering his crew to bale out knowing he would not survive.
All the comfortable bedrooms at Manser have en-suite bathrooms and include TV, DVD player and tea & coffee making facilities. The extensive breakfast menu features locally sourced produce and is served between 8 and 10am. There is large lounge to relax in, or why not take advantage of the hot tub and barbecue in our gardens that surround the house. At the rear of the garden, there is access to the coastal path, which leads from Castle Cove to Steephill Cove - a lovely “must-visit” place where you will find a beach café, seafood restaurant, Wheeler’s crab delicacies, safe bathing and public conveniences.
We are a dog-friendly establishment, where well-behaved dogs are most welcome. There are three resident Labradors at Manser - Poppy, BB and Toby. Dog mats can be provided on request. We politely request that you clean up after your dog and adhere to dog walking restrictions. (Please ask about restrictions on arrival).
Enjoy the delights of the beautiful and varied Isle of Wight for a week or a short break. The Island is host to several festivals throughout the year, including the Isle of Wight Festival (music festival), the Garlic Festival and Cowes Week - a must for all you sailors! There are several golf courses and miles of unspoilt walks with numerous historical sites. For eating out, there are plenty of pubs and restaurants serving excellent food at reasonable prices.
We look forward to welcoming you to our B&B for an enjoyable relaxing break. For booking information, please contact Jill on 01983 855835. (All bookings are subject to a deposit and we kindly ask that all accounts are settled on arrival). Tariff is currently £30 pppn.
Manser B&B has a 5 Star Food Hygiene Rating from The Isle of Wight Council Enviromental Health Department
