Extreme Sports on the Isle of Wight
There are many different varieties of extreme sports on the Isle of Wight for spectators and participants alike and you will be hard pushed to find a better location for this assortment of exciting activities. The White Air Extreme Sports Festival is held every year on the Isle of Wight and features a vast array of water sports and events on land. The festival also hosts The World Windsurfing Formula Championships, which is the biggest windsurfing event held in the UK.
As well as windsurfing, there are a great many other extreme sports on the Isle of Wight to enjoy. These include mountain boarding, land yachting, BMX, surfing, kite surfing, gravity racing, parkour, skate boarding, jet skiing and Thundercat racing. An extreme sport (also called action sport, adventure sport, and adventurous sport) is defined as any sport featuring speed, height, danger, a high level of physical exertion, highly specialised gear, or spectacular stunts. Extreme sports on the Isle of Wight certainly fall into those categories.
